HERE’S 4 THINGS YOU PROBABLY DON’T KNOW ABOUT ‘WINNIE THE POOH’

Got to love Winnie the Pooh ^_^

  1. Apparently, the ‘Pooh’ part of Winnie’s name came from a swan. It’s said that the Milne family met a swan named Pooh on vacation (said swan is also referred to in his poem The Mirror)

  2. Winnie the Pooh was inspired by a real life bear named Winnie who ended up being the mascot for an English regiment that her owner was in. However, Winnie the Pooh’s design was based upon illustrator E. H. Shepard’s son’s stuffed teddybear named Growler

  3. The Hundred Acre Wood was inspired by Ashdown Forest, Sussex, England – which is where Milne had bought a house back in 1925
