DAY 1: THREE DAYS, THREE QUOTES TAG

So I wanted to organise myself a bit over the weekend, but my body decided that Saturday was the perfect day for me to get sick and start my period. Now it looks like I’ll be organising my assessment calendar in the library tomorrow! Which is fine by me because I love my university’s library! It’s so peaceful and spacious and the air-con is set at the perfect temperature!

A big thank-you to Arthifis and Keiko for nominating me for this tag! Their own posts featured some awesome quotes, so definitely check them out!

Here are the rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you
  2. Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote for each day)
  3. Nominate three new bloggers each day

So as we all know, I tend to share posts that literally just consists of quotes. So instead of taking a quote from something that you’d find on my blog, I’ve decided that for these three days I’ll post something different!

Okay then! Well here’s my first quote for my first day!

“The reward for conformity is that everyone likes you but yourself” – Rita Mae Brown

Conformity can more often that not, just be a terrible thing. When one conforms to the expectations of others, they tend to forego a piece of themselves in order to please another. You end up feeling inauthentic and hating yourself for being too afraid to just do what you want to do and being true to yourself. It’s scary to think about rejection, and it’s scary to think about being the one to make yourself unhappy…

So yeah, I’ll just leave this here for you guys to ponder over…

Though on a much lighter note, here’s the awesome nominees:
1. ArtistyByBeauty
2. Kingdylbag13
3. Crimson613

As always, you can choose to not participate in the tag! It’s up to you! There’s no pressure ^_^

Bye everyone! Hope your days are going well!

This is an awesome quote! 😮 I definitely agree with it – conformity can sometimes just be an extra burden you just don’t need because what’s the point if it doesn’t make you happy right

Definitely!!! There’s not point if you’re not going to be happy!
One of the only times that we can argue that conformity it good is when we conform to laws and morals that prevent us from causing psychological and/or physical harm to others, because these things are viewed as being wrong in modern society. So obviously conforming to these expectations would be viewed as a ‘good’ act, but for other things like body image and dress and hobbies… feeling restricted in your ability to express yourself or be confident in yourself isn’t 😦
